Few years ago, you might have heard of this story: A teacher came to class and took out a $50 note. He then asked his students who would want this note. All hands shot up. Then he crumbled the note and asked again. Still, hands shot up. He proceeded to throw it on the floor, stepped on it and even spat on it. Hands still shot up even after he asked. The moral of the story is that one's value doesn't diminish through circumstances.

But recently, I have another perception to that story. Yes, the value doesn't diminish through circumstances. But the value depends on the situation. If I am stuck in a island, with no water and food, with my throat parched, I believe that even if someone gives me thousands of $50 notes, it won't be of any help. That goes to show that the money note isn't able to help in my situation.

These days, I am wondering that I am really of NO help. My VALUE has definitely diminished. It has been a good five years plus, I think. But I think that it is time to move on le. This time, it is really not able to avail time for many things le.

So long, everyone in xxxx

Like what you said, the value depends on the situation. That means that the value appears according to situation.

The $50 appeared in a school where money is attainable for the system.

Why would that $50 appear in a desert for?

So if you appeared in system. What was your VALUE in the first place?

Then let me ask you back again. Why would that $50 not appear in the desert for? And I mention about island, not desert. I believe that anyone has the imagination of how a $50 can appear in a desert right?

And your next question is, what is my value in the first place if I appear in the system?

My response is it depends on the amount of help I am able to avail in the system. But if I am of no help, then I am of no value to the system itself.

The story about the $50 was created with an expectation about meaning of value.

I'm sorry but I got to be honest: The $50 dollars will definitely not appear in the island story. It is like what you read, it was a teacher who brought out the $50 to show the students. He did not bring water and food, which are valuable to the lost island-er, to the classroom. The value was decided by those who will receive. The teacher knew that.

I prefer that values are no Black Swans.

Yeah. Your value is dependent on your help. But your help is graded by those who takes the reception.. not by you.
